In book number six of the Dr. Anna Cassini series, Anna and Michael face an uncertain future after his parents join them in the stone house. Anna's father receives a frightening letter which changes the Cassini family forever. Then a local family torn apart by a child's mother who wants to change his gender causes chaos in the county. Anna's friend Mark Vincent who moved to Michigan from Texas to a new position with the local Sheriff's Department, is on the case, which turns deadly.
